The Addmove option

The Addmove option

Postby Bruno on Thu Mar 28, 2002 4:05 am

Hello,

I am using this function for zipping files:

<b>
Function iZippa (sFileInput, sNomeZIP)

set ZIP = server.createobject("aspZip.EasyZIP")
Zip.ZipFileName = sNomeZIP
Zip.ArgsClear
Zip.AddOptions = 256 "AddMove, as in the documentation.
Zip.ArgsAdd(sFileInput)
Zip.Zip

iZippa = Zip.Error
set ZIP = nothing

end function
</b>

It works correctly, but the AddOptions parameter is ignored: the original file is not deleted. I am using the registered version.
Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Hi,

maybe a right problem ?

Are you sure that the IUSR_{something !} Account is allowed to remove the file ?
Did you try to do a vbscript remove of the file ?
did you check the error message ?

read you soon,

Unfortunately yes, that account can delete files.

Yes, and it worked perfectly in both client-side VBScript and ASP...

Yes, and guess what? No error messages... <img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>

Anyway, thanks again for trying!

Hi

I've done a lot of testing and found that the component has an error. On the component I use hexadecimal values so I used to set this property to 0x160, if you convert it to decimal this value is 352 and not 256.
The documents are correct but no the component, so if you se it to 352 it will work fine.

I don't known what to do to solve this error, correct the component or modify the documents.

John,

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>
(...) so if you se it to 352 it will work fine.
<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately on my server, if I use 352, it looks like the input file is deleted <i>before</i> it's zipped, and I get the following message: "Input file does not exist"
Any ideas?

This is very strange, I've done a lot of testings and it ever deletes the file after zipping it. Did you test it that it really can zip the file? It may have that the destination file is write protected.

Unfortunately the destination file is not write protected: my program makes a new ZIP file every time, and it's not updating an existing archive.
Of course this is not a "real" problem, because I can use 256 as a parameter and delete the input file using FileSystemObject. I've done lots of tests too, but I haven't found a solution yet... I'll let you know if I find something.
