Temporary File Failure

Temporary File Failure

Postby Bongle on Mon Jan 19, 2004 3:59 pm

I keep on getting a temporary file failure whenever I"m zipping. Here"s my code:
Code: Select all
dim zipper
set zipper = server.createobject("aspZip.EasyZIP")

zipper.zipfilename = iso.fields("ID") & ".zip"
zipper.argsclear
zipper.argsadd(server.mappath(iso.fields("filepath")))
zipper.zip

if zipper.error <> 0 then
   response.write("Error: " & zipper.lastmessage)
   response.end
else
   response.write("File Compressed Successfully")
end if

And here"s the debug info:

aspEasyZIP 3.01 (20/07/03) DEBUG: DEBUGGING ON
aspEasyZIP 3.01 (20/07/03) DEBUG: Setting FileName to .zip
aspEasyZIP 3.01 (20/07/03) DEBUG: ArgsClear

Error: Temporary file failure

Now, I"ve checked my IIS, and it has my anonymous user set to full permissions, but I couldn"t change that if I wanted to, all the checkboxes are greyed out. The folder was set to read-only, but I fixed that. Is it because I need the easyzip.txt file in the folder for the unregistered version?

I should add that the read and write checkboxes in the window I get when I right click on the directory in IIS are checked as well.

This is normally a permission fail and if fails on the temporary file, then you should put the Change permission to the IIS annonymous user. Better if you make all permission properties to that user.

How would I go about doing that? If I use windows explorer/my computer to find the folder, right click->properties, and go to the directory security tab, every single user has all permissions, except for 'creator' which seems to revert to no permissions every time I try. How do I get to the permissions list in IIS?

I got it. It was a coding error. Where I go

zipper.filename = Iso.fields("ID") & ".zip"

It should've been

zipper.filename = server.mappath(iso.fields("id") & ".zip")

Thanks for you help though!

ASPEasyZip and ASPEasyCrypt are great! Keep working!

I just was trying to capture some screens to show you how to add security to the IIS user [:)]

Have a great day!.
