HTML formating & send to back command

Postby Yuri on Tue Jul 13, 2004 12:58 am

Hi,
1. I"m trying to create a newsletter in VisualEasyPDF.
If I click "Add formatted text" button it inserts PDF.AddText code and displays HTML formating in PDF and I have to change PDF.AddText to PDF.AddHTML manually line-by-line.
Is it normal?

2. It looks like there is no way to place JPG image over this Formatted text - bring to front or send to back commands don"t work.
The only way to incorporate images and text is to create html page with images and text & render it through PDF.AddHTML
Correct?
3. I can not load PDF created with another software and add pictures/text with aspEasyPDF - is this correct?

Thank you
Yuri

I will check point 1 and 2 to fix the problems, seems to be bugs.

For point 3 you are right, you can not import PDFs, but we will add this feature on future versions.

You can already download version 2.10beta which fixes your item 1, and several other bugs.
For item 2 I've to do some more test because I can not find a fast trick to order images and formatted text visually. BTW: On the code is done correctly.

To get this fix just download it from this URL: http://www.mitdata.net/files/visualeasypdf.zip ; just replace the exe file.

By the way, John, on your home page left "Menu.asp" page can't be scrolled and doesn't display links on the bottom (Forum & such) even on my 21" monitor.
I had to call Menu.asp directly.

At which resolution are you working because I can see it on my 19" monitor ( which is 1600x1200 ) and even on the iBook which is 1024x768.
Can you send me a print out?

I'm not sure what was happening yesterday but now your web site looks just fine on all screens.

I installed a new exe and PDF.AddHTML now works!

Another question about VisualEasyPDF's Formatted Text Box.

Can I change the font size and other parameters by using buttons on the tool bar of the DOcument Editor. So far I've found that only colour of the text can be changed.
Size is very important because we are going to create many 2 & 3 column layouts for different newsletters and we must see right away if the articles will fit on the page or not, plus we would have to split it by number of columns.

It would have been much easier if we could import existing PDF, created in Adobe InDesign, and just paste photo and contact information of our clients over it. We don't need to do anything with existing objects. I think aspPDF component (by P.Persits) works with imported PDFs the same way.

Regards,
Yuri

I'm working to fix several bugs in VEP, one is that after setting the object you can not change the size and even the font.
You must select the font previous to add the object.

The addPDF function just work on the aspEasyPDF library, not in the Visual dessigner of VEP, but this will came in future releases.
(Persits does not have any Visual editor in it's catalog, only the library as MITData has)

John,
I got it!
Your "Send to Back" button actually brings object to Front and vs.
Would it be possible to change icons and mouse-over hints?
Thank you.
